Tom Perkins Credentials

Since 1992, Tom has personally completed more than 6000 residential and light commercial inspections. In 1997, under contract with Virginia Power, Tom hired a staff of five inspectors to perform quality assurance heat pump installations throughout the Virginia Commonwealth and into North Carolina. Approximately 1800 additional inspections were performed. The majority of Tom's time is now spent managing AccuSpec Inspections. The company provides a variety of building and energy related inspection services.

Tom is an active Certified Member of the American Society of Home Inspectors, including the local ASHI chapter. He is an Authorized Virginia Power Auditor. Tom is also a Licensed Virginia General Contractor, however he does not currently offer any contracting services; he feels that contracting for repairs or improvements is in conflict with the ethics of a Professional Building Inspector.

Prior to Tom's career move into the inspection business, he was a Realtor and a General Contractor for two years. Prior to this, Tom spent seventeen years with a world-class Fortune 500 company in progressive engineering, marketing, and, management roles.

The list below is a chronological list of Tom's completed certifications, training, seminars, etc. that are relevant to his Building Inspection profession.
